Job Accounts Payable Officer, Richmond

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our client's finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting the broader finance function with month-end activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume invoices with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform weekly payment runs, ensuring all payments are authorised and scheduled on time
• Apply correct GST treatment and ensure compliance with ATO requirements
• Conduct purchase order (PO) matching and verify supporting documentation
• Allocate and code invoices correctly to the General Ledger (GL)
• Assist with accrual journals and support month-end close processes
• Maintain supplier accounts, respond to queries, and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Support continuous improvement of AP processes and system usage
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure smooth procure-to-pay workflow
• Utilise ERP systems for invoice processing, reporting, and reconciliation (ERP experience desirable)

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role processing high invoice volumes
• Strong understanding of GST, PO matching, and GL coding
• Exposure to accrual journals and month-end processes
• Experience with ERP systems desirable
• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
